Your visit to Mount Clare begins with an introductory video, and is followed by a guided tour of the entire house. Allow 45 to 60 minutes. Click here to view the video.

Tours are scheduled on the hour. The last tour begins at 3:00. Please confirm your tour prior to your visit to ensure guide availability. Due to unforeseen circumstances, Mount Clare may be closed without prior notice. During inclement weather Mount Clare follows the closing notices for Baltimore County schools.
The first floor of Mount Clare is accessible, however the second floor can only be reached via our main staircase. We do not have an elevator in the historic house.
There are no public restrooms in the historic house. Restrooms are available in Carroll Park, and at the Mount Clare Stable for group tours.
Group tours are available, and make ideal outings for bus tours, retirement communities, community and religious organizations, etc. If you are interested in spending a whole day in Baltimore, ask us about arranging tours with other historic homes in Baltimore such as Homewood, Evergreen, The Flag House, The Carroll Mansion, & Hampton Mansion. Mile One Express Train Ride from the B&O Railroad Museum to Carroll Park
Visitors to the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Museum can board the Mile One Express Train to Mount Clare Museum House on Saturdays.
